Background
Dr. Gerhard Hauman is a general practitioner who graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 2010 where he completed his MBChB degree. He gained valuable experience during his 2 years of internship at Tembisa Tertiary Hospital in Gauteng. During 2013 he moved back to his home town of Caledon where he completed his community service year. Still giving back to the community he moved to Stellenbosch Provincial Hospital where he worked for 5 years as a medical officer in the emergency department, outpatient department, wards as well as surgical and anaesthetic work in theatre. During this time he broadened his horizons with visits to Ireland where he worked at Letterkenny University Hospital as an Emergency medicine registrar. Currently he is working full time as a general practitioner at his practice in Table View.
Interests
Dr. Hauman completed the core learning path of the World Obesity Federation and joined the Slender Wonder medical weight-loss programme as practitioner and is therefore licensed to provide patients with guidance with respect to their weight loss challenges.
ORTHOPAEDIC SURGICAL ASSISTANCE
He assists with orthopaedic theatre cases in Blaauwberg Netcare Hospital.
Dr. Hauman has successfully completed his certificate in Travel Medicine and is licensed to provide up to date travel advise and support. He is also licensed to provide yellow fever and all other travel related immunisations.
